I and my husband decided to go to Tom Heaney's restaurant when we watched him on The Great British Menu. We are visiting Wales and we wanted to celebrate our anniversary dinner. It was the best food we both ever had. We opted for the menu of the month with wine pairing. Every dish on the menu was divine. Especially cuttlefish noodles in broth was just to die for. We could have just eaten that for the whole meal. I am allergic to walnuts so the chef subbed pickled walnut chutney with black garlic puree for cauliflower croquet. Came here for a Sunday lunch, the food was of good quality with a delicious sourdough and marmite butter to start, the potatoes however were a bit tough on the outside and slightly undercooked on the inside. It would have been nice to have more greens to share as they were delicious. The service was not bad at all but felt a little routine and not particularly outstanding. The layout of the entrance and the hosts podium is a bit awkward with steps between the door you enter in and where you are greeted as there is seating on the lower part too and it doesn’t really flow very well. We enjoyed an amazing 10-course tasting menu at this restaurant last Saturday afternoon. I can’t believe we had not been to this restaurant before this. Impeccable service and exquisite food! I was a marmite hater but the marmite butter was excellent. I highly recommend this place.

First visit to Heaneys, and first Impression was excellent such a lovely setting, styling and atmosphere. There were 3 in the group we all had the full tasting menu and 2 had the wine pairing. Tasting menus change monthly. The wine pairing was excellent with sparkling, White, Red and dessert wines from around the world, highly recommend. We had 11 different dishes, the Star dishes were. Pickled Oysters with chilli, totally different taste to raw oysters. Chicken and Fenugreek broth Aged comte cheese & onion (split opinion as I thought the pastry case was soggy) Sourdough bread was delicious, p
