We’ve visited The Early Bird on 3 occasions to hold family functions. All 3 times we’ve been pleased with the care that the establishment has shown towards our requirements. Staff always friendly, professional and helpful. Good selection of drinks. Atmosphere is pleasant with a mixture of locals having a drink and also people visiting for food. Parking could be better but we’ve always coped. Generally, we’re grateful to this pub restaurant for the service they provide.

The food was fantastic. Service was friendly and attentive. I had steak and ale pie and it was full of big chunks of steak which had been slow cooked and melted in the mouth. My wife had the beef stew which was the same with tender meat and lots of it. I see other dinners who had cod and chips which looked more like half a whale, very big bit of fish. We went on a Friday afternoon and it was quite. The pub is nicely decorated and cosy. Will be going back again soon.

We arrived 30 minutes before the end of the food service (2pm) but they still welcomed us. We ordered two dishes: the pie of the day (chicken, bacon, leek) with mash and veggies and lamb chops with mash and veggies. At first when I saw the prices I thought it was a bit expensive but when the dishes were served I saw the portions and was surprised how they were very generous, and the flavors were well-defined. The staff was friendly and attentive. We really enjoyed our experience. A nice pub, I recommend it.

Had a good meal at the Early bird. Starters were lovely but quite substantial. Main courses were enjoyed by all - no room for pudding! Service was very good. It was a shame because the pub was almost empty even though it was a Saturday night. This did have an effect.on the atmosphere.
