Absolutely loved the desi breakfast at My Karak Chai! The whole plate had that comforting, homemade feel that you don’t often find in breakfast spots. The halwa puri was delicious, it was soft, warm, and full of flavour…and the portion size was genuinely generous. The karak chai was a standout: rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. Great location, just opposite the tram line in oldham town centre & has been a personal favourite for a few years now for a quick afterwork bite & chaii!! It serves delicious Indian street food & authentic chaii! 😋 The Karak Chaii is their stronger, creamy & perfectly spiced tea & their popular, Pink Tea (Kashmiri-style) is a rich, creamy, sweet tea with a beautiful pink hue! They used to have the Gulab Jamon dessert but I've not been able to see it on the counter on my recent visits. I’m typically not drawn to Asian breakfast, however the Apna Breakfast and the Halwa Puri Breakfast were genuinely exceptional. The flavours were bold, well-balanced, and beautifully executed — the spice and seasoning were particularly impressive. The halwa was smooth, delicately sweet, and presented to a very high standard.
