This was one of our favourite places, visiting at least 2 times a week for the past 4/5 months! Unfortunately we have had a negative experience tonight. After working a 10 hour shift, I was looking forward doing the weekly quiz. Having no breaks, I was HUNGRY! After being told that they were not serving food (even though the menu said food from Wednesday to Sunday), I asked if they would mind me ordering something to keep me going. I have Visited the Royal on several occasions with husband and family. Love the Sunday roasts and recently had a mixed meat Roast dinner platter for two with Yorkshire puddings which was very nice and an extra jug of gravy. There is a great selection of hot and cold Traditional English puddings for dessert. Good range of Drinks at average price. Cosy pub with a fireplace friendly atmosphere and staff friendly.. Adequate seating inside and a few tables outside.. Clean toilets, and Street Parking.

Booked the doghouse room upstairs for a private party. Communication was great and answered all my questions. We had access the morning of the party to set up. The room looked amazing. Lovely decor, from the tables to the buffet food. There was so much food and a wide variety. Frankie was on the bar and was so friendly to all the guests. I would highly recommend hiring the room. So glad I chose there

Very pleased to find a proper pub within (just about) walking distance from where we live. The beer garden is decent and the interior has plenty of period fixtures and fitting with lots of charm. How pubs used to be!
