I had an absolutely wonderful experience at this Malayalam restaurant today. From the moment the food arrived, it was clear that authenticity and flavor were their top priorities. I tried the Kappa Biryani, and it was truly outstanding — perfectly cooked tapioca blended beautifully with flavorful, well-spiced meat. The balance of spices was just right, giving that rich, traditional Kerala taste without being overpowering. We recently visited The Kerala in Reigate. The ambience was fantastic – the restaurant is beautifully decorated, has a lovely atmosphere, and the staff were welcoming and attentive. Unfortunately, the food didn’t live up to the setting. Most of the dishes lacked the authentic flavours and depth you would expect from Kerala cuisine, and overall we found the taste to be below par. The one standout was the porotta, which was fresh, flaky, and very well made. It’s a great place for the ambience, but the food needs improvement to match the otherwise excellent dining experience.

Great offering of a variety of curries enjoyed by out party of 4, stand out dishes were both the chicken as well as the prawn Biryani’s, Chefs Speciality fish curry was exceptional. The Butter Chicken didn’t disappoint either. Despite it being a busy Friday night the staff were friendly and attentative. Plentiful parking at the rear was a bonus. Keep up the Good Work.
