Salmon and liquor at Robins pie mash. Since salmon was on the menu, I thought I'd go against the grain and try it. Definitely something different and works because it reminds me of fish and parsley sauce. The salmon was just poached right, firm and flakey, delicious with liquor and lashings of vinegar and white pepper. Robins used to be located at the quarter just opposite near primark but the new location is much better but cash only like Chinese places. They even have a fortune cat on the shelf. Interestingly their Yorkshire Tea is served from a big tea pot which makes it taste much stronger

This is one of the few remaining pie and mash places in London and East London. This is typically English and British food. It was a pleasure to experience it. Taste - I’d give it at 1/5 it did not taste good to me, very bland. Decor - I’m not very keen on the tiles, it makes it feel like a washroom. The service was 10/10. The ladies are fantastic so try it at least once.

I ordered a delivery to my home 300 miles from Romford. The pies, liquor and eels arrived fresh and in tip top condition. Full instructions enclosed for reheating and serving. Everything was absolutely fantastic. I'd like to say a huge thank you to Claudia and the team for making the order process so seamless with excellent communication when I raised a query about how many eels to order. I will definitely be ordering from Robins again.

A traditional English pie & mash shop. The food, decor and lightning fast service feels very WW2. It's a little bit of British yesteryear. Highly recommended to try at least once.
