We visited on Saturday lunchtime with my 2-year-old daughter. The owner, Thea, was really kind, friendly and welcoming from the moment we walked in. The service was fantastic and the food was really good value. The fish was fresh and very crispy, and the chips were crunchy on the outside and fluffy inside. It also came with plenty of sauces, and you can choose curry sauce, beans or peas on the side. All the food was really good, but the service stood out even more. Went yesterday with me mum as we had gone to Southport for the day, and I’d looked for the best fish and chips round the area, and it did not disappoint. Fish was lovely. I ordered the haddock, the chips were proper homemade chips! The mushy peas were delightful! The best fish and chips I’ve had in a while, I’d come back to Southport weekly just for the food ❤️

An absolute gem of a place. Hidden down an unassuming side street, the surrounding shops give an unfair impression of the Dolphin. A large takeaway and separate restaurant area - with accessible toilets and entrance. The family run business is welcoming and friendly, it’s clear that there are many regulars here from the number of people who stop to thank the staff who always make time for them.
