We went to visit Taunton for the day and Augustus was recommended to us as the best restaurant in town. It definitely lived up to the hype. Wow - I had the mussels and I’ve never had such plump fresh mussels in my life. Even better than when you get them from the coast. Unbelievable. With the Asian inspired brother as well, it was amazing! The monkfish was beautiful. We also had the steamed plum pudding which was delicious. Service was amazing, so attentive and friendly. Thank you for our lovely meal!

My partner and I visited Augusta’s on Saturday night for the first time for dinner. Service was exceptional - polite and attentive staff, wine topped up regularly throughout the night. We are both lactose intolerant and Cedric was able to advise on dishes which would be suitable and changes they can make to dishes to cater for us which was amazing and appeared no hassle! Food was delicious, great quality and a good portion size. Lovely atmosphere and clean. We were given the option of where to sit and chose the conservatory which was lovely. Fair price for the quality of food and drink. Great

My partner & I had the most brilliant 3-course set lunch at Augustus today. A whole perfectly cooked Cornish sole each was the highlight. Unfussy smart service, crisp salad with an interesting dressing, lemon with our water, just-soft butter with the clearly very fresh bread, a beautiful room… all the details were spot-on.
