A big spacious pub with multiple rooms. Some games like pool, pinball, darts scattered throughout, and a few tvs. I sat by one of the fires for a warm up. The food looked like stodgy pub food. The bartenders were both friendly. From walking around the neighbourhood, this definitely seems like the pub with the most character. There was only one cask on when I came, but it looks like there are a few more on normally.

Haven’t stepped inside these doors in 20+ years plus having moved out of London. I visited the pub with my Brother (Stow-local) and frequent visitor to The Chequers and boy was I not disappointed. The hospitality and quality of service was outstanding then the delicious food arrived 😋 Plenty to choose from the menu with a nice cold beer and all served with a smile. I almost don’t want to give this review because I don’t want it to become so popular i can’t get a table. But… their Sunday roasts deserve a 5 star review! I’ve been here the last few months for a roast and it’s banging. Portion size is good - I love the chicken as it’s boneless - the beef, pork and sides also all fantastic.

Excellent Sunday lunchtime roast..Had the roast beef, came with good portions and very tasty. Dessert was an excellent apple crumble with custard. Service was excellent and seemed to be one super woman running the whole service show.. Legend!!
