I'm from Lancashire. I know about fish and chips! 😋🤣🤣 Now... what I'm about to say, says a lot! This is, without doubt, the best chippy in the South of England! The chips are delicious, the portions more than generous. The service is first class, friendly and helpful. I'm profoundly death... they took the trouble to speak slowly in a slightly raised voice... not whisper (surprising common) or face the opposite way and shout! A word of warning... only order one piece of halumi- it's huge! Totally worth a visit the next time you have to change trains at Wickford 👍

When I tell you this is the best cooked fish and chips from chip shop I'm serious. The fish is a generous portion compared to other places I've been too and the chips have always been super tasty, maybe they change their oil more regularly I don't know but whatever it is I'll happily go out my way for a cheat meal here! Service is always good too - bonus.

Used to be brilliant. I popped in this evening and asked for two plaice to be cooked fresh and when I got home and opened up the bag I discovered that only one was freshly cooked (which I gave to my wife being the gentleman I am) the other (as you can see from the photos) was pretty much inedible apart from the mushy overcooked fish inside, which I ate because I was hungry. It must've been in the cabinet since yesterday. "Pisces" You obviously choose profit over quality. I won't be returning.
