Excellent lunch, we opted for the 5 dishes for £60 plus drinks and it was fantastic. Every dish was amazing and full of flavour and extremely well presented. Our waiter was brilliant and very friendly. Will definitely be back when in York.

We came on the Thursday night before the Easter bank holiday. Some of the worst service I’ve ever seen at a high end restaurant. It took 3 hours for us to have starter, main and desert. I was somewhat sympathetic that it might be a kitchen issue, but no- by the end two waiting staff in an empty restaurant took half an hour to come and take our desert order - to the extent that I had to go up (they were chatting to the kitchen staff..) and politely ask if they might come over. Same thing with the bill. And then the audacity to charge service. Food was great though .

The best restaurant in York that we've visited thus far (and have tried a lot including a well regarded Michelin starred restaurant!). We've visited twice now on two seperate occasions years apart. The quality of produce is out of this world. The restaurant provides a board which details where each produce was caught or grown. For some of the produce this is even traced back to the very boat it was caught on. Each dish is innovative and bursting with flavour. The presentation of dishes is beautiful. We visited for Valentines this year as the restaurant is perfect for a romantic date night. It
