My goto place for american Chinese food since middle school. Unfortunately, I don't live in the area anymore, so from time to time, when I get a chance, I order from here. The restaurant itself is a time capsule that hasn't changed much other than the price. Typically, I avoid any closed kitchen carryout as they usually come plagued with some surprises. Overall, cleanliness is good other than from time to time there is a notable sewer smell. I have traveled this great nation enjoying Chinese takeout wherever I go. I just moved to Silver Spring and I have to say this is the worse area in the nation to get Chinese takeout. One disappointment after another. Food is just terrible here. So i happened to be near china king and ordered after the sticker shock I got looking at the menu. Food was decent, the prices NO WAY can they be justified, just way to expensive. I give up on Chinese's takeout in this area.

The food had no flavor. I asked for a simple glass of water. They would only sell me a bottled water. I tho that was ridiculous considering that they were charging me $15.00 for a small portion of poorly prepared Mongolian pork with rice. It didn't even look or taste like pork. I will not return.

I have only gotten carryout, but the restaurant is clean and the service is great. Their won ton soup and moo goo gai pan are excellent 👌
