Old school and true coffee shop. Warm, practical, humorous with an all around lovely vibe. Food was delicious, coffee, which is fresh roasted, was very good. But most of all, the atmosphere of the shop-its dedicated and engaged staff, and the humanity-forward sensibilities make this a must visit.

I want to love the Bean so bad. It’s very close to home, has a great vibe, and the staff are very nice. However, the drinks are just so bad. The espresso usually taste burnt and all the lattes taste like straight milk. Everytime I go I’m disappointed by the things they make, but I keep going for vibes.

I was quite saddened to see my favorite Louisville coffeeshop have literature in the bathrooms supporting "gender-affirming care" when the vast majority of global medical opinion is now against sex changes on vulnerable (often gay) teens. This is rapidly becoming the greatest medical scandal in world history and I say this as a strong supporter of gay rights and trans people being treated with respect and dignity. No 12-year-old is ever mature enough to make life-altering medical decisions. Even the head of GLAAD recently said as much. I will not patronize such a business.

Slightly visually busy. Definitely eclectic. Assuredly calming and pleasing. Not your average cafe. Only on street parking and very limited seating… however… the coffee, tea, and food menu selections are extensive so a trip here is warranted! Some local artist items for sale as well as the shop t-shirts, cups, mugs, stickers and other items. Please go and enjoy! It will not disappoint🥰
