Reserved a table at Utopia on a whim and so glad we did. There were so many locally grown ingredients which added to the exceptional flavors in the dishes. We started with spanakopita, which is baked and made of layers of phyllo dough, spinach, fresh herbs, ricotta cheese, and feta cheese. For dinner I had the mushroom pasta, which incorporated fresh pappardelle with locally sourced mushrooms. It was in a cream sauce, but the sauce was subtle and didn't overwhelm the dish. Top notch service located right in Bangor downtown and nice range choice of vegetarian & vegan options. We tried Brussel sprouts, Moroccan stew and swordfish platter. Moroccan stew was ok, Brussel sprouts & swordfish was fab. Also got the beach bum mocktail, it was pretty good.

We were thrilled to find out that Utopia was open on a Monday! We were back in Maine on a short getaway. From start to finish, our meal was perfect. It was a fine dining experience from amazing mock tails to cocktails. All made with fresh ingredients. We were never rushed through our meals, but not ever ignored by Justin or the wait staff. The main courses did not disappoint! My husband had a steak that was presented to perfection and the flavor was mouthwatering. I had the Eggplant Rollatini. It was remarkable also in flavor and texture. Hats off to Chef Greg on an amazing dining experience!

Updated: Dropped my rating from a 4 to a 2 after the owner tracked me down on Instagram AFTER arguing with me here after I left what I thought was a very fair review.
