I've ordered a number of gelato cakes from Deerfields in Buffalo Grove. They have always looked great, but more importantly, tasted great. They are not too sweet, and they store well in the freezer for a long period of time. I actually travel 50 miles each way for these cakes. I have not found a bakery that offers cakes as great as these. It's easy to order and pre-pay online, and I have rarely encountered a wait to pick them up.

Our wedding cake from Deerfields Bakery turned out incredibly delicious! We received many compliments. The design was exactly like what we asked for. We had one minor miscommunication regarding the wedding cake topper which is why I cannot rate 5/5 stars. Both my mother in law and I contacted the bakery on separate occasions about the cake topper and we were instructed to drop the cake topper off at the bakery a couple of weeks before the wedding. Had such a great first visit here! There are so many delicious options to choose from and the cakes looked amazing. We picked up a variety of donuts 🍩 which were all so good. We also had a breakfast burrito—honestly huge and easily enough for two people to share (plus it came with breakfast potatoes!). The coffee was amazing too ☕️ Shoutout to Molly—she was so kind and patient, and her kitty tattoo was adorable 🤩. She definitely made the experience even better. Can’t wait to go back. Definitely planning to pick up a cake for our next special occasion 🎂.

Dear Deerfields Bakery Team, I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with Order #33344, which I picked up on May 9th for my mother’s birthday. While I have had positive experiences with your bakery in the past, this experience was highly unprofessional and ruined a special occasion. The packaging was completely unacceptable. The executive did not properly close the box because of the icing. For a cake costing over $50, I expect a box that fits the product correctly.
