I came here with a friend for my birthday on a recommendation from her friend! I'd never had authentic Irish food before, so I went whole hog and got the beef shepherd's pie. So delicious! My friend got the vegetarian currie with half rice and half fries. I never thought I'd LOVE the taste of a steak fry loaded with curry veggies! Our bartender was attentive and kept our cups full! Tucked in off the Main Street. Patio feels like you travelled back in time. This is one of the oldest restaurants in SanFran- worth eating at. You definitely feel as if you are in Ireland. The menu is traditional pub food, the portions are huge and the food is great.

Looked for locals place away from the tourist and thought I found it. If I order dinner and you ask me to hold my credit card before you put my order in, puts me off and I won't be back. The fish strips and chips were good, cooked well, cod properly battered, what you expect it should be but cutting filets into 1 to 1.5 inch strips not at all what I would expect. Service was fast for a Saturday night. Nice pub atmosphere. Little note Shepards pie is made from Lamb ( shepards raise sheep) if you use ground beef as they do, its a cottage pie... just saying.

Pretty loud night at the bar. Service was gruff one bartender seemed to be going through it. Music was Kendrick Lamar and Ye. Every patron speaks at a yell. The cool thing is the seating out in the alley so bring a group and enjoy that. For a Solo traveller Id keep looking for something with a calmer vibe.
