George Castro★Experience review: Thursday April 2 around 2:30 pm I had a really uncomfortable experience here. Unfortunate, because I live near by and it was my first time. While I was eating, someone approached my table and left open food on the seat next to me, and it smelled terrible. They left an open bag of rotisserie chicken..like what even? Staff appeared to be aware of the situation but didn’t step in or address it at all. It made the space feel unsanitary, and I didn’t even get to finish my meal before leaving. Because of that experience alone, I personally won't be back.

I used to frequently go to the location off 20 when I lived in Elgin and then the Dundee location when I lived in Carpentersville. Still great service. Food was delicious and VERY filling. All fresh ingredients. Staff was friendly and helpful. The restaurant was clean and organized. There was a small band playing when I got there but left soon after I arrived. There is a good amount of parking in front of the restaurant but you can also park on the street on the blocks surrounding the
Thomas★★★★★Went to the El Faro on State St. Parking wasn't easy to find, but I found a map. I will post. We both ordered the flautas, which were very good. We also started with steak nachos. Single layer nachos on cut up tostada, amazing. The service was great, we were only people in the place for about 15 mins then some to-go's picked up and another table was sat. Beans, rice, escabeche, nachos, and flautas. Everything was very good. I will eat here again. Also they have pictures of most of their food on the walls. The nachos were so good, we forgot to take pics, lol.
