I spend a fair amount of time in Texas, and have actively sought out many of the Texas Monthly Top 50 spots. This place would fit right in... perhaps not at the top of the list, but certainly above the bottom! Finding perfect brisket in Everett WA was absolutely not my expectation, yet here it is! I was lucky that the place I intended to go for dinner was closed, or I probably wouldn't have even tried J&L BBQ. I WILL be back, though! So good! I’ve been here a half a dozen times and it never disappoints. Super friendly staff too. The brisket is absolutely amazing. As is the cheddar jalapeño sausage. Totally worth a trip for some delicious barbecue.

Real food!!!! Oh my gosh, you get SO much meat and all the food is delicious and *Real* With so many companies going cheap and preservative, etc. It is hard to fine real food these days. It's not cheap, but its not cheap food either, it is always amazing. The Pork Ribs and Beef Brisket are Crazy Good and never disappoint. Always moist and juicy, never burnt and dry. If you’re craving legit BBQ in Washington, J and L BBQ absolutely delivers. We ordered a pulled pork slider with potato salad and a brisket plate with mac & cheese and baked beans—and everything was delicious. This is a full-on stamp of approval from two Texans, which says a lot. What really stood out, though, was the hospitality. The team was incredibly polite and friendly from the moment we walked in.
