I first found The Purple Onion when I moved to Homewood back in the mid 90's. It was one of the treasures living in Homewood. Slowly over the years the prices went up yet the food quality was good. I moved away and haven't been in awhile. While in town I decided to try one of my old favs. So disappointing. Raise the price I hate but accept these days. But charge $19 for a gyro plate and I get much fewer pieces of dry, wafer thin meat. Check another place off my list! I called to let the manager know they should do better and was told the manager wasn't there. Well, that explains part of it..r

I'm passing through Bama from out of state and decided to try them. I got the Hawaiian burger with beef patty and no mayo and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had (And I've had many burgers in my life). Wow! Juicy, seasoned beef with grilled pineapple and shredded lettuce. This burger had all the right elements. Was ready in 5 minutes!

I've never heard of this place and decided to look up the menu and saw that they had a very wide variety of foods and we decided to go. I want to say that it was sooo delicious! I got a shroom burger and the meat was handmade, not processed! It was a huge burger and the best ive had in a long time. My daughter had a steak wrap and it was also huge and very good. The fries were fantastic! The food was made fresh and hot! The service was great! And we would definitely go back and try something else.
