I W★★★★★Koi Palace is my top choice for special occasions in the South Bay; they truly offer some of the best Chinese cuisine in the area. The peking duck and lobster or other seafood dishes are my favorites and always consistently high quality. Weekend reservations are a must. Also, a quick tip: check if there’s a banquet scheduled before you go. If there’s an event with live music, it can get incredibly loud, making it difficult to enjoy a conversation. Otherwise, it's a fantastic dining experience.
Minghao Yang★★★The dishes are overally good and fresh. Though the service is terrible here and they charged us 18% fee even though it's just a table for two. We waited for more than one hour before seated. Then no one came to serve until we call some one about ten minutes afterwards. Without saying a word, they seemed pretty busy when helped us order. I do think we deserve a better service for a required 18% fee.
Olivia Tam★★★★Tried the Premium Soup with Seafood and Meat (i.e. 佛跳牆), a special dish rarely found in other restaurants. We enjoyed the premium soup at a premium pricing for a one time experience. We also tried other dishes on the menu, all yummy. The only issue is that the noise level is high and we need to speak up to hear each other. We have been to the restaurant a few times and the noise level was ok. It maybe to do with specifically where we sat this time.
Isaac Tan★★★★This restaurant was recommended by a few people for serving good Cantonese cuisine. For dinner for two, we ordered 3 dishes including the popular sliced skin roasted duck and buns. Surprisingly, for the roasted duck dish, there is no option for ordering half a duck although there are only two of us. Also, we will have preferred that the meat to be deboned (besides the drumsticks) rather than just being chopped in pieces.
