Truly a gem, which explains why it's so popular amongst the locals. It's located in downtown Omaha, and attracted lots of visitors on the weekend that my partner and I were in town. I went here on the recommendation of a friend. There is a lot of natural light and staff are friendly. There are nice happy hour specials early afternoon. It’s a bit slow to place your order and wait for food. We liked the duck duck goose fries but felt that the cold barbecue sauce (gooseberry gastrique?) just cooled the fries too much, making The whole thing room temperature even though we likely received it as soon as it was ready. Keep in mind, they may run out of certain dishes towards late afternoon.

I stopped by Block 16 while exploring downtown Omaha and I am really glad I did. This place is clearly a local favorite and after eating here I can see why. I ordered the steak fries and they were outstanding. The fries were piled high with tender steak, gravy, and fresh green onions. Block 16 is always a great choice. This is my wife's favorite place to eat when we visit Omaha. The food is always hot, fresh and delicious. There is always a creative special offered as well. This visit we had the Bacon and Brie A La Emily, Sailor Dip, regular fries and Dragon fries. Super duper delicious! We've also had and very much enjoyed the Croque Garcon Burger, Poutine, Block Burger and Sloppy Nick. You really can't go wrong with anything on the menu.
