It is my first time here at Emmy squared as my husband had the biggest craving since his first bite last week (from the Upper East side location). His craving was insatiable, so we drove all the way here from Queens. From the moment we walked in, Ivan greeted us and sat us promptly. He was so efficient in taking our order as we wanted a separate pie to go for our children. I’m sitting here after a fantastic meal basking in the glorious ambiance. I’ve been hoping to try the famed Emmy Squared for years and am so glad I stopped in tonight. The service truly could not have been better: we were diligently waited upon by both Emma (so on brand!) and Charlie (good ol’ Chuck) and couldn’t have wanted for more attentive servers. I wish I could take them with me to every restaurant I dine at in the future! My partner and I opted for an all-vegan* build-your-own pizza (banana peppers, red onion, hot honey, and dairy-free cheese), and it was really, really good! Neither of us had ever had Detroit-style pizza before, and there weren’t any reviews written just yet about the vegan options that we had seen, so we went in with fairly low expectations. We were both definitely pleasantly surprised. The bread/crust and cheese both were super tasty!
