First time here. Loved the chive cake appetizer. The Awk with chicken and sticky rice was very good, but a bit too heavy on the dill and fish sauce in my opinion. Good spice level. Excellent service with Jeab, who did a great job of explaining dishes and making suggestions. Decent wine, but the Horse Stomped Barn needed more honey. Overall, recommended!

Had family visiting from out of town, so we took them to Thip Khao to try Laotian food. The restaurant is very popular so highly recommend making a reservation in advance. We ordered several dishes to share. The crispy beef jerky was an easy favorite. The beef was well seasoned and the dipping sauce was even more flavorful. The crispy catfish from the jungle menu was great too, with large chunks of fish served in a tangy sauce. Very good Laotian dinner. We had a lot of different dishes that we have never tried before and we thought they were super delicious. Highly recommend the Vientiane Paradise as a spicy cocktail is something I loveeee. Hu Mu Todd and Nahm Tok are both solid starters and lovee Senh Mee Puu and Khao Soi Luang Prabang as main courses. As a Vietnamese, I enjoyed these so much but keep in mind everything is well seasoned to the point that if you don’t eat a lot of seasonings, some dishes might be a bit salty to your taste 🤭

This place served me the best thing I've ever eaten (naem khao- without the sour pork addition) and the best fried rice I have ever had in my life (kua khao jaew bong- with shrimp). The meal blew me away. Also tried the kapao kob with chicken and it was an excellent execution of chicken you would normally get from a chinese restaurant (think orange chicken without the tang). Overall, I am so impressed with this restaurant and can't wait to go back.
