We stopped by The Southern Cafe for a late brunch on a Sunday, quite close to closing time. Our waitress was incredibly friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome and assuring us that we didn't need to rush. The service was excellent, and our food arrived quickly. The portions here are massive! My boyfriend ordered the Chicken Fried Chicken skillet paired with the specialty Cinnamon Swirl pancakes, and he had no complaints about his meal. The pancakes were huge and quite tasty. As for my meal, the chicken and waffles had good flavor, though it was very carb-heavy so I didn't finish it. U

The 90-minute dining limit made the experience feel a bit rushed, especially for families trying to enjoy a meal together. There was also an unusual odor near the front of the restaurant that occasionally drifted into the dining area. While the food was decent, it felt overpriced for the quality and portion sizes. Service was another disappointment—we were unable to get drink refills, and our waitress was rarely seen throughout the meal. Overall, the experience didn’t quite match the price point or expectations.

Huge portion sizes make every cent worth it, and on top of that, everything is delicious! My husband and I can never agree on a breakfast place, but here, both of us had plenty of options we liked. Wait staff was friendly and helpful.
