We stopped at Santos Chef by Goodfellas on a very quiet Monday night when restaurant options were limited in town, and we were glad we did. Service was faultless and friendly. My husband ordered the chicken marsala and thought it was fantastic. He especially liked the touch of fresh spinach on the side, which he could toss into his pasta to let it gently wilt (a nice idea). I had the eggplant and sausage pasta, which was a bit less successful. The biggest complaint I have about Santos restaurant is that the prices on the menu are not accurate. All the entrées that we ordered were several dollars more than the prices on the menu. The same was true for the glasses of wine… They were not priced as advertised. This has been going on for 8 months! There’s no note of that anywhere on the menu anywhere in the restaurant and not even the wait staff mentions it. I truly think this is unconscionable on the part of the restaurant owner, Santos. Got here at 6:40, waited for 2 hours for our food. Had to send it back because it was wrong. They remade the food which took an hour and when we got it , it was cold and still wrong. They ran out of tea, hardly ever checked on us. And then when the check came they overcharged us and we had to get our check fixed twice until it was the right price. Will not ever be coming back.

Excellent Italian meal. The veal dishes were dynamite. Well made pasta. Generous pours of wine. Friendly staff and the chocolate cake was quite good. A really good meal in an unassuming location.
