January 2026 visit for late breakfast: Arrived around 10am with a reservation and seated immediately. Table was not the most convenient with the high banquet style seats and really tight spacing next to a wall, especially when the place was still fairly empty with any other options. Regardless, we were 4 adults: we and our things were able to squish. We ordered plates with both hash and tater tots. And biscuits on the side. They were okay. Slightly mushy English muffins. I recently went to Drakes in San Carlos for breakfast and it was honestly one of the best brunch spots I’ve been to on the Peninsula. The atmosphere is really nice — modern but still cozy — and the location right by the train station gives it a cool vibe. The staff was friendly and the service was quick even though it was busy. The food was amazing. The Eggs Benedict was perfectly cooked, the tater tots were super crispy, and the portions were actually worth the price. What a wonderful breakfast spot! The restaurant is charming, with a lovely historic feel. The staff is so attentive and alert. We sat at the bar, and the bartender (who was very busy) noticed right away that my meal was not prepared as I had asked, so she ask the kitchen to correct it. The drinks were delicious, as were our meals, but the biscuits were perfect. I will visit in the future just for a drink, and the biscuits and bacon plate.
