We’d been wanting to try Marietas for a while and finally decided to go on Cinco de Mayo. As expected, it was very busy, but the wait was only about 30 minutes and the staff was friendly and attentive throughout the night. The food and drinks, however, were pretty average overall. The chips and salsa were decent. I liked the thicker-style chips, and they also served a small bean dip on the side, which was a nice touch. We ordered skinny margaritas, but they tasted more like overly sweet premixed drinks than actual skinny margaritas, and honestly didn’t seem to have much alcohol in them. I ha

A nice family atmosphere in the east county. The flautas were delicious but the fajitas stole the show with the amount of food you got for the price which was amazing. The steak and chicken were great the only comment was the shrimp could have used more seasoning on it. Overall a great meal and a place we look forward to coming back to.

Marieta’s Fine Mexican Food at 8915 Carlton Hills Boulevard Santee California. Open for breakfast, lunch & dinner. We were at Mary’s donut shop a few doors down from and decided to try out Marieta’s. Turned out to be a Diamond in the rough. The waiters are professional and proper and the food is very authentic, south of the border authentic. Prices are 10 - 20 dollars a person. They serve alcohol in many delicious drinks, the Margaritas are worth a try. Lots of entrance level parking and handicapped accessible. Pictures attached show some of their dishes. Long time customer- like 35 years long. Grew up eating Marieta’s and had since brought many family members and visiting friends to eat here as well. Now that I live in Clairemont it isn’t as easy to pop in but I will drive to Santee SPECIFICALLY for an order of chips n salsa to go. Big bag of chips/pint of salsa = tasty snacking through our week! Many of the staff are still around from my childhood which always warms my heart when I walk in.
