We were welcomed with an urn of chai that you could help yourself to some while waiting for your order. I got lamb korma. My spouse got Madras curry. In both dishes, the meat was tender but the item description didn't match exactly what we got. We also received papadam on top of our rice. We enjoy this flavorful treat and would have liked it on the side to maintain crispness. Service was quick. While most order takeout, there are a few tables available to eat in.

Unassuming Indian restaurant right on highland avenue. Honestly I might’ve never gone here if I wasn’t sitting at the bar at Highland Kitchen looking across the street. Well anyways we got hungry and I went across the street to order takeout. The staff were friendly and courteous and the food was ready quickly. We liked the meals and felt like the value was very fair. I will say the spice level at “medium” was good and actually had a bit of kick. Will be returning!

I have ordered their vegetarian to go tiffin many times and it has become my go to whenever I don’t feel like cooking but still want food with a home cooked vibe. The dal makhani and mixed vegetable korma are my absolute favorites. They both are delicious, comforting and very filling. The food consistently feels wholesome and satisfying just like a home cooked meal. Highly recommended if you are craving simple, tasty vegetarian food that hits the spot.

This has been our favorite spot since we moved to Somerville! My partner and I have never gotten tired of Curry Express’s fresh takes on our familiar favorites, and the owner is super nice. We always come back for more saag, aloo ghobi, baingan bharta, and of course the complementary masala chai! Portions are large enough to share or have as leftovers
