While staying in Downtown Syracuse I looked for some good Italian in the area and this place came up with excellent reviews. I checked OpenTable for 6:30PM on a Wednesday night and it said there was nothing within 3-1/2 hours. I found this very odd and since I was on my own, I ventured on down anyway to see if I could score a spot at the bar, which I easily did because they were only 1/4 full and the bar only had 3 other people at it when I arrived. Abbiocco has a very inviting space with exposed brick a bar at the front and the wood fitted oven in view. We were seated quickly and they were very friendly. The tables are well spaced out so you don't feel like you're sitting with your neighbors. Service was good and Patrick was very friendly and accommodating. The food was terrific with excellent bread, Ragu di Funghi, red snapper special, broccoli rabe and cannot were very tasty. We also had the strawberry kiwi mules as mocktails and these were good too. Excellent experience and will go again.

Summary: Overall good not great. We came for dining week and all of the food was pretty good just nothing necessarily impressive or that we’d come back for. Service was slow but the waitress seemed stretched pretty thin so not her fault. Ambiance/environment leaves a little to be desired.
