Walk downtown D.C. and you'll find locally owned spots like Eye Street Grill open Monday-Friday for breakfast and lunch to cater to the downtown workforce. This particular one is beloved. The owners worked in D.C. restaurants making sandwiches until they saved enough money to open their own spot in 2000. 26 years later, it's still going strong. Open at 6:40am, they have a hot breakfast bar, breakfast sandwiches, and drop coffee. My coworker and I were looking for a sandwich and found this spot. We had no idea it was an Asian place but the food was so good. I had a chicken steak sandwich which was hot meal with some honey sriracha chips I have never tried and a cherry lemonade. It was under $20 and I was very pleased. We sat out front to enjoy the refreshing weather. It started to rain but the table had an umbrella so we were fine. I would go back and try the other food or even another sandwich!
