The food was amazing. The restaurant was busy and service took a little longer. But I think that’s the European way. They don’t rush anyone or try to turn tables quickly, which is nice. The food came out quickly and was delicious. I would definitely eat here again. My friend had the salmon and I had the vol-au-vent. I’m a picky eater, and this was out of my comfort zone. I’m so glad I tried it! For dessert I had the biscoff creme brûlée and my friend had the chocolate mousse.

Cosy, friendly pub atmosphere with great food (and beer, of course!) Location is convenient to major tourist interests, easily walkable in Bruges. The food was absolutely wonderful - a small, well-curated menu of local foods, done right. The Mussels a la Diligence - amazing in cream, garlic, leeks and pastis (if you like that anise flavour, it’s not overpowering.) An appetiser portion may be enough for a smaller appetite main dish! I had dinner in Diligence with my boyfriend on our first night in Brugge. The restaurant is really cozy and warm inside. We shared a soup and cheese cubes as starters. The soup was really really good. As main course we shared the traditional beef stew with salad and fries. It was really good as well and I totally recommend it. We tried the Grimbergen Blonde beer and we loved it!

The restaurant has a pub type feel to it. The ground floor feels more like a bar/pub with both tables and a bar. The tables are close together and there is a quiet hum of conversation. Upstairs feels more like a traditional restaurant in a rustic farmhouse setting. We ate upstairs, but if we come back, the bar seems like a fun place to an enjoy an evening. We started off with the mushroom toast, and it was fantastic. The combination of the sautéed mushrooms and the crispy toast was very tasty. One is plenty for two people.
