Visited on 24/10 as we were in Brussels for a break and needed somewhere to get breakfast. Fabulous breakfast was had by all…ordering via the app is super simple and food arrived promptly. Food was beautifully presented and very tasty. Will definitely add to the itinerary on a return trip.

Perfectly located around saint Catherine church , this is a spacious outdoor seating as well large hall inside with great bar & drinks. Lively atmosphere yet tucked away from vehicle road , this is a really nice place to catch up a drink or 2 and even their enticing menu will give you lot of option to eat well or order some snacks, aperitif etc . I heard mixed things about this place and after visiting this place myself six times I have to admit: it is a very cosy place and the quality the drinks and food being served is good. However, there are some important negative points to take into account and consider before take a seat in the bar or on the terrace: - probably to save money and so limit costs, the owner mostly selects students to work here and this is experienced in the service: while mostly kind also often childish. Live, laugh, love De Markten Café if you ask me! Their - Middle Eastern - food never disappoints and their coffee & pastries always hit when studying at their big co-work table. With friends i often go to study or if we need a quick coffee stop. They are open until late in the evening (and serve coffee until late in the evening too) which is super nice in a city where it’s rare.
