I’ve driven past this little spot on Clarence Street a million times and finally stopped in last weekend. It’s definitely a "hidden gem"-super tiny and unassuming, but the smell of fresh bread hits you immediately. I grabbed a few of their famous custard tarts (natas) and a coconut tart, and they were incredible-flaky pastry and perfectly creamy without being too sweet. The fresh rolls were a total steal, too. The only minor downside is the size; it’s extremely cramped inside, so if there's a lineup, it feels a bit chaotic. Authentic, delicious, and unbeatable prices.

These Portuguese and Coconut tarts have the same crunchy and delicate base that is easy to bite into and consume. It’s very light. It is hard to eat just one. The ratio between filling to tart is perfect. Not overly sweet. I highly recommend the coconut tarts. Enjoy!
