I honestly don’t understand the hype around Mama Lucia. The food was below average and definitely not worth the expectations. The tomato sauce on the pizza was way too salty, completely overpowering the rest of the flavors. On top of that, the pizza dough just wasn’t good, it lacked texture and taste. I left the restaurant disappointed instead of feeling like I had just enjoyed a great lunch. I didn’t even manage to finish my meal, which almost never happens to me. We came in without a reservation Christmas Eve, and they had one last table that fit all 5 of us. The chicken salad had a unique and great flavor. So the other dishes were generous portions and flavorful.
