This place has a brilliant interior decor that perfectly sets the stage for a unique historical theme, matching the name and exterior cannon. Very lively environment and packed with tourist. I recommend to sit inside the restaurant to enjoy the unique setting. We had the potato soup which tastes quite good. The suckling pig was a bit of a disappointment- there’s no taste on the pork , just feels it needs more seasoning or longer cooking time. The skin was very crispy and the sides that came with it were delicious.

Ate here since it was very close to the art museum and sat in their patio area, service was pretty fast and food came out reasonably quick. Ordered the pork goulash and it was honestly a bit tasteless, not much tomato flavor at all and the gaminess of the pork even came through. Aside from that the white cabbage salad was quite tangy and delicious. The potato dumpling was similar in texture to a gnocchi and was pretty good as well. My friend also enjoyed his saxon beef so maybe the goulash is just not their signature.

The dining experience is very unique, the dungeon vibe makes you feel you've been transported back in time. I highly recommend dining inside and not outside the restaurant. However, if you are a bit claustrophobic you need to take that into consideration. Make an advanced reservation online or send them an email if the are no seats in the time slot you like. They are very responsive and will try to accommodate you. I made my reservation via Email one day before Easter, despite the unavailable seats in the time slot I like, they graciously confirmed a table for 2. I recommend their Oma's go
