I really enjoyed the restaurant and the overall vibe! You definitely have to try their Schäufele(a german dish). It’s not the most unique dish, but it’s absolutely worth tasting. Their schnitzels are also excellent. Plus, the waiters were genuinely friendly. Highly recommend!

Alter Simpl is a classic German restaurant not for the faint hearted. They serve all the classical German dishes you can think of, especially the famous Nürnberger Wurst. You must reserve in advance otherwise it is very challenging to find an empty spot. I unfortunately didn't feel welcomed by the waiter greeting me. After I mentioned I didn't reserve in advance, he immediately mentioned that there are no empty tables, but there were numerous in the upper floor and I know because some of our colleagues were already sitting at their table upstairs and confirmed so. I must say though the food

Title: Very disappointing – Not recommended I absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant. The recommended dish (Schweinshaxe) was of poor quality, smelled strong, and was not fresh. What was particularly unpleasant was how they handled the topic of tipping. Although tipping is voluntary in Germany, we were pressured by the owner in a very inappropriate and threatening manner. Such behavior towards guests is absolutely unacceptable. I can only advise everyone to avoid this establishment.
