Staying here feels like I went back in time. This stay is definitely one for the books, you'll be near train stations, shops, restaurants, and most of the must visit attractions in Freiburg. Their staff are nice, they clean the room everyday, and the breakfast is okay. I want to come back.

Got the full room package (bathroom, tub, etc). Have had dinner here twice. The staff is very friendly and very patient with non-German speakers, were very helpful in guiding us to good spots around town. The room is cozy with a great view of the main street, the food was excellent, great beers on tap! Would strongly recommend to any tourists passing through!

Not a 5* luxury hotel, the stars are for service and location. My room was basic, clean and large, which suited me. I prefer space over fancy furnishing. Bed was comfortable. Large bathroom with good shower. Breakfast had plenty of options to my taste. Particularly enjoyed the seeded rolls. Breakfast start time of 7.45 is a bit late. 7.30 would be better. No lift and stairs are narrow. It is an old building. Five minutes from the cathedral. Food available throughout the day. I have eaten there multiple times. Gasthaus Löwen Restaurant: Unbelievably disappointing. My husband and I were really looking forward to a great traditional meal in the Black Forest. I have lived and travelled in German speaking countries for 20 years and this was the worst experience. The asparagus soup was watered down and had very little flavor; the asparagus looked and tasted as if it came from a can, when you're paying the high prices for fresh in-season asparagus. My husband's pork steak in a spicy sauce was tough (never has had that happen). A pre-prepared meal in a supermarket tastes better. I ordered something I neve
