I was at this pleasant, intimate cafe for its Karfreitag (Good Friday) brunch. Tante Emmilie, in a quiet spot just up from Braunschweig's Altstadt Market, offers a warm friendly welcome and well-prepared breakfast/brunch grub in the German style. Excellent cooked-to-order soft-scrambled eggs, varieties of hams, jams and spreads, and, of course, very good bread. Prosecco if you want, too. Convivial and relaxing.

Had cheese breakfast and found the proffered selection a little bland. Having pre-ordered breakfasts' rolls and slices of bread waiting for you at the table is unorthodox. Tea came in a Japanese styled iron pot and was very nice.

Amazing place! We found out about it by accident. The food is super delicious the staff is really friendly and inviting. Everything is made in a super authentic way. I highly recommend if you are looking for that relaxed morning breakfast that hits the spot.
