No air conditioning is a real letdown though, especially on warmer days when it gets stuffy fast. Drinks match the global standard: mediocre cold ones that don't wow, but solid hot drinks like lattes that hit the spot. Snacks stand out as a highlight—fresh pastries and bites that save the visit. Like U.S. stores, the payment screen nudges hard for tips, which feels off here.

As an American expat living in Germany, I usually avoid American chains like the plague. However, around the holidays I can't fight the pull for a Pumpkin Spice or Lebkuchen Latte. I first came into this location for a PSL in September. I have continued to come back and even was convinced to get a Starbucks loyalty card (through the app) because of an exceptionally friendly and professional employee named Ilai. Ilai has made coming into a large company coffee shop feel like a truly local experience.
