I've followed the Michelin Kaohsiung guide. I came there at around 2 pm. It had available seats and no waiting queues. The duck rice is great. I ordered the large size (70TWD) that came with perfect combination between rice, duck and duck sauce. It might be bland for people who love strong-flavoured food. However, the staff is not pretty kind. I paid by cash and she threw the coin to my table :(

You know this place is good when the queue is just doesn't stop! We were in queue for about half an hour. Pretty fast in my opinion. We ordered abit of each to try. The 卤肉饭 was actually very fragrant. The vermicelli soup was also good. The soup also yummy. We had ordered some duck's blood cake, some innerts and half a duck. It was so good that we to order more! They open till 8pm the queue is still long at 7.30pm! Make sure to visit when in kaoshiung!

LOVED THIS PLACE. It is sooo authentic and local (maybe too authentic and local for some when it comes to hygiene) with amazing food. The queue can be long but you won’t wait too long. Many locals are getting takeaways, if you are planning to dine in, get a table first and it’s number before you order. The intestine soup and blood rice blocks are the must, duck over rice is good as well. You can get more soup(soup only) for free so do as the locals do!

The duck meat rice, vermicelli and soup are really amazing. The meat is tender, and moist, the soup rich and flavorful and the assorted duck parts are clean and delicious. The restaurant itself is rather spacious, but you'll have to order before you can sit down. Payment is made on the arrival of your dishes. The staff are somewhat on edge but that's to be expected with the large volume of customers. Overall the food was amazing and that in itself is worth returning again. 9/10, highly recommended!

I stopped by Yarou Zhen in Kaohsiung for lunch after seeing duck cuisine come up a lot as a local specialty. It’s on the Michelin Guide, and even though I heard many locals go to another branch, this location was still packed. I ordered duck rice and a duck drumstick on the side. The duck was well marinated, tasted very fresh, and had a nice firmness while still being tender. It felt like the kind of place I’d go back to regularly, 8.8/10.

If you ever find yourself in Kaohsiung, do not sleep on this place. This was the only meal I had during my daytrip and I don't regret it one bit. This was one of the best bowls I've ever consumed in my life. If you see a line in Duck Zhen (and you will) brave the line and get the duck rice bowl. I promise you won't regret it.

this was the only meal i had in kaohsiung n i had a great experience! i was very lucky as the queue wasn’t too bad but when i was leaving i saw it can get LONG. i ordered the 鴨肉飯 + 青菜 + 鴨米血 everything was delicious and i was treated very well (even received a bowl of sauce for the 鴨米血 when they saw me eating it plain 😭). just wish they were a bit more generous with the 鴨肉飯 sauce it was unbelievably gooooood
