We were located in a private room which is very quiet and super nice. We hosted a party of 7 persons in celebrating a happy reunion. We asked chef Mario to prepare dishes that we could all shared. We had different delicious salad dishes, pizza, pasta, and a 1kg roasted bone in ribeye steak. Desserts, tea, and coffee. Everyone had a very pleasant and joyful evening. Service was great with a very nice ambiance. Will definitely try again on our next visit to Taipei.

We visited with our family to celebrate the final day of 2025. The cuisine was exceptional, the quality speaks for itself, with the homemade pasta being particularly outstanding. Portion sizes are thoughtfully balanced, making it ideal for ordering a variety of dishes to share. The ribeye steak, in particular was superb. The service was warm attentive, and professional throughout the evening. Joe, one of the staff members was especially helpful and kindly assisted us with a bar reservation after dinner our sincere thanks to him. I dine here regularly, and it remains a restaurant where we can confidently bring friends and loved ones, knowing the experience will always be excellent.

Dined at Bencotto and it was extremely disappointing for the price. The cold cuts tasted stale, like they had been sitting for days. Staff argued about steak doneness; we ordered medium, it arrived closer to medium rare and was still chewy, clearly poor meat quality. The atmosphere has also declined, with loud children disrupting what used to be a more refined setting. Overall, not the standard expected.

Not up to Mandarin Oriental standards I took my girlfriend to Bencotto for her birthday dinner. I had asked them in advance to arrange a vegan set for myself, while my girlfriend went for the 4-course signature set menu. The food was generally ok (the signature set was good but the vegan set was quite poor and repetitive, and it was different from what was sent to us ahead of the meal), but the service was really below average, and definitely far from what one would expect from a major luxury chain like the Mandarin Oriental. For example, they forgot to clear the table in between courses more than once, our tea orders had not been recorded somehow so we had to repeat again, the initial welcome and introduction to the menu was done by a grumpy waitress who had clearly had a bad day, and it really felt that all the service staff were constantly running around in a rush which does not typically happen at high end restaurants. It had been quite a while since my last visit, and unfortunately this time the experience was rather disappointing. It made me wonder how the restaurant earned its Michelin recognition. The service throughout the evening felt quite inattentive. We ordered a bottle of wine at the beginning, but our glasses were often left empty for a long time without anyone noticing or offering to refill them. Later on, when we wanted to order another glass, it was surprisingly difficult to find a staff member to assist us. We were also celebrating a birthday and had arranged a birthday cake in advance. However, when the cake was brought to the table, the staff simply placed it down and left immediately. We wanted to ask if someone could help us take a photo, but unfortunately there was no one around to ask.
