I have been coming to Hillmount with a friend for a long time now and much as I love the atmosphere, the staff and the shop, I am always disappointed in the home made scones. They absolutely fall into crumbs on your plate. I cut into them and it is impossible to butter them as they turn to crumbs as soon as touched with the butter. I end up with a heap of crumbs on my plate which I then have to eat with my coffee spoon. I think they need to be mixed more for a stiffer dough but I am only guessing. Sadly I shall not be back as £3.60 for a pile of crumbs is just too much!

EVERY TIME I pop in to this place, I leave with at least 4-6 beautiful tops. I do not ever buy that much in the larger chain store shops. I just love the quality and feel and look of the clothes at Hillmount. Today I went in for an Autumn Wreath and came out with that plus 5 new tops!
