As a solo diner, ive noticed sometimes restaurants would rather hold the table for a couple. My baked fish on roast potatoes and vegetables from the main menu, was really delicious and surprisingly robust. I finished with an expresso but wished I'd had room for dessert. I ordered the chicken Milanese, which was very greasy and served with a salad that didn’t taste fresh at all. The potatoes were burnt and also greasy—I couldn’t eat them. When I raised this with the waitress, she simply said she would pass the message to the chef, but no one came back to check on us or offer any solution. It felt like no one really cared.
