“No Queue, good coffee nice atmosphere”

Popped in on Christmas Eve to get a quick hot drink and something to eat: Coffee and peach iced tea nice as usual, but got a salami Panini for the first time and it was so bland… Needed a really big pinch of salt at least, and some more spices in my honest opinion. Didn’t really taste of cheese or salami. Did enjoy the hot coffee though. No wait despite the date, and plenty of tables free.

First of all quick service. It’s important for me as I don’t like to wait too much. The ladies behind the till were very nice and friendly. The quality is great but that’s expected. And the atmosphere is the normal costa atmosphere not better or worse.

Came in to get a takeaway drink and there were several staff members standing around the counter who appeared to have just finished their shift, chatting with the woman behind the counter. When I came up to the till she let out an audible huff before asking what I wanted. There was no greeting, no eye contact, and absolutely no attempt at basic customer service. It felt like I was inconveniencing her by simply ordering a drink. there were also reduced-price cakes sitting on the counter in a broken, dirty-looking cake dome, which didn’t give a very hygienic impression at all. Walking out of the rain only to find an empty Costa with 5 staff on, all talking and no one cleaning the absolute mess that was on every table. I watched an elderly couple with a young child clean there own table. The lady who served me (Anett, according to the Receipt) just watched while leaning on the counter!!! Dirty toilets, messy tables, staff all talking, I can only assume they just had a very very busy spell of invisible customers ( they was dead when I walked past 20 minutes ago) bad form Costa!!!!!!
