This is a good idea to have coffee shop or a kind cafe in such place. It is a local place and it is needed. Plus,It is local muse that serves the community. Therfore it is always good to have f&b business in such places. However,I have to tell you in unfortunate way that service was definitely terrible.As a two restaurant owner and also as an academic person in the university based on gastronomy,This place should be taken over by the professionals and run properly like the way it deserves.There is no way to explain the service in a good way.. Staff are generally friendly and efficient. There isn't a huge choice of lunchtime dishes but the food is tasty and reasonably priced. The only criticism I have is that sometimes, when the cafe is busy, there can be quite a long wait for food. To be fair, they do generally notify customers if the wait is more than 20 minutes or so. Definitely worth a visit - the cakes are delicious!!

Great select of cakes ( look at the cream to cake ratio!!!) sausage rolls serviced hot straight from being cooked! Great little stop before going to the museum or having a walk around the park! Dog friendly but only outside.

Great location, very nice atmosphere, liked the tables outside the cafe, we enjoyed delicious desserts on the summer terrace. It was convenient to park the car in the parking lot, parking is paid. The cafe has a lot of interesting dishes and delicious coffee. There is also a menu and ice cream for children. In the Oaklands park there are two good large kid’s playgrounds, beautiful nature and the Chelmsford Museum. But unfortunately we did not get to the museum, it was closed,but we were not disappointed because we had a great time in the park and cafe.
