Continuing on my quest to dine in an Argentine restaurant in every major city that we travel to, while in Edinburgh we sought out their best Argentine steak house and after a heavy day of hiking we were ready and excited to hit Gaucho. We have seen this chain of Argentine steakhouses in other European cities and it was time to give it a try. Gaucho felt like a true taste of Argentina right in the heart of the city. The setting is stylish yet warm, with an atmosphere that instantly makes you relax and enjoy the experience. The service was fantastic too: friendly, attentive, and genuinely passionate about the food and drinks they’re serving. The ribeye steak was the highlight for me - incredibly tender, and full of that rich, smoky flavour. We had such a wonderful experience at Gaucho Edinburgh – a real treat as part of a Red Letter Days gift, and it absolutely lived up to expectations. The steak was honestly the best I’ve ever had. Although the steak portion was on the smaller side, every single bite was cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. The flavour was outstanding and it was prepared exactly as requested. Food was wonderful, had the Focaccia and Chimichurri (definitely top tier, going to make at home) Seabream with a side of Mac & Cheese, and Dulce Des Leches Cheesecake. Service was a bit fast and the staff always seemed to be in a bit of a rush, but I suppose it was quite busy in there.
