Excellent food. Best pho in Edinburgh. We also had the spring and summer rolls for starters. Very big portion with lovely and fresh herbs. We also tried the caramelised pork belly which had a wonderfully balanced sweet and salty flavour with lots of spices like star anise. If you like ice coffee then Vietnamese ice coffee with condensed milk is a must. Very strong coffee flavour, balanced out with sweetness and richness from the condensed milk. First time visit to Nam and we were blown away. We regularly eat Vietnamese, Thai etc food but the food here was of a different level. Such an unusual and very interesting menu. We had the tartare and marrow bone to start. It was enough to share. Followed by the most fabulous pho with king prawns and rare topside of beef and it was rare. Delicious. Hubby had the garlic chicken which was equally amazing. Portions are generous and so well priced you can afford to treat yourself on a Monday. Lol. This is the 2nd we’ve been and it is INCREDIBLE: we got the viet fish cakes as a starter and each a GIANT bone marrow & beef shank pho. The broth is just so delicious, so deep! And it balances so well with the garnishes (spring onions, mint, beansprouts, chillies) which brings a lot of freshness! There is a very generous amount of meat (beef shank in this case), I kept finding more meat thinking “I ate it all right?”!
