For weeks and months and almost years, we’ve been saying we need to try The Stage but never got around to it but we’re so glad we went. It was quiet, when we turned up at about 12.20 and we chose a table in the window. It was clean and had no glass marks. There was a good choice of real ales and lagers and the pint I had was great (can’t remember which it was). We ordered burgers - a double burger and the ‘Stag’ triple. Went on Friday evening ordered beef bourguignon with half rice half chip, it came in a bowl with 3 pieces of beef on top. I’ve never seen it served that way the sauce was more like a pasta sauce, with the chips being under they just went soggy, the beef was tough, the only thing edible was the rice with a bit of sauce. The Sarah used to serve great food but sorry I won’t be back again

Firstly, we weren't told on being seated that there were no pizzas, and 2 of our party had wanted them. Then we did the qr code to place our order...the 2 pizzas decided on gammon, we got a bit confused with the ordering, so they both came with no egg, we mentioned to our server and asked if we could possibly add eggs, I did say to apologise to the kitchen...but as we were sat directly opposite the hatch, we heard quite plainly that the chef wasn't impressed! I will say that the food was very nice...the Sunday lunches were lovely...with plenty gravy 👍
