Vinyl Cafe is a true gem..great coffee and a warm, welcoming vibe. The owner, Blake, is incredibly kind. I asked for less caramel, and he said he’d remake it if I didn’t like it, which really shows how much he cares. I stopped in on a rainy day and ended up enjoying a nice chat and the cozy atmosphere. Families, kids, and couples all made it feel like a hometown spot. I also loved seeing Blake’s childhood photo on the wall with his father and siblings, it adds a personal touch. Highly recommend for families, kids, and anyone looking for great coffee and genuine hospitality.

This is a super laid back place. Great selection of albums. The coffee is the best in Ames. (I've tried them all). Customer service is perfect. The people working there really connect with each customer for a personal experience. Highly recommend letting the barista choose your drink (Deep Cut). Totally worth it!

Found this place while on a trip, and being a Washington resident, it certainly exceeded my expectations. Very knowledgeable owner who takes pride in his beans and flavors. Understands ratios so you don't end up with a tooth-ringingly sweet drink. Talk about music with him, and since it's partially underground/downstairs, it would make a nice place to study. Next time my work brings me to town, I'll visit again; shop local!

We visited for the first time 1/17/26 and let me tell you, from the moment we walked in until the time we left it was incredible! We realized right away that this was exactly what we needed!
