As recent North Carolina transplants, seeing Cheerwine on the menu felt like finding a little piece of home. My partner ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich, and I went with the 6 piece fish fry with pickles and hush puppies. Everything was fresh, flavorful, and full of personality. The fish was perfectly crisp, the hush puppies were outstanding, and nothing felt like an afterthought. Our waitress was so personable and friendly as well. We will definitely be back.

The hard part about Parsons is do you get the fish or the chicken as they are both excellent! Their chicken is a perfect blend of not too much breading while also having a great crunch to it and I appreciate that they use a chicken thigh for the sandwich. Their fish is done quite well as the crust stays on nicely and is not too greasy. Don't sleep on their hush puppies and drinks, especially the frozen negroni. They are both popular for a reason, which is that they are both excellent.

This is a favorite - we day drink on the patio, bring our dogs, chat with other tables, and the staff is great. And we haven't even gotten to the food yet! Happy hour specials are generous discounts on frozen Pina coladas, wines and their famous dipper platter with a buffet of fried goodness and your choice of dips. My personal favs are the frozen negroni, the spicy nuggets, and their potato salad - honestly, I think about that potato salad in my dreams! You can't go wrong with this as a summer day patio hang, a real locals place with lots of character and you don't have to break the bank!
